This project is to refine existing firmware for a battery operated embedded device. This project is primarily to quickly and efficiently debug and optimize the code. The device is based on the ARM architecture and we use Free RTOS as our operating system. The device has a cmos camera, IR camera along with bluetooth, wifi and zwave wireless radios. The device also has voip capability so some experience with that would be a plus. The device connects to both PC's and smart phones. Our hardware includes the ST Micro ST32 and we use the TI BLT/WIFI chipset. This project has milestones but many new ones will be created as the project progresses into achieving customer requirements.

Our project is a sub-submergible device, half above water and half underneath. Above water is the micro-controller with the GPS antenna to be able to connect wirelessly (using XBee) to a tablet (windows) to be able to obtain the data real-time, and to be able to view the camera attached to the bottom of the product and to control propellors. Below water will be the attached sensors, for example, temperature, salinity, and pressure, being connected to the micro-controller to send the data obtained, also attached underwater will be a GO pro camera.
