Hi,
I hold a PhD in history of philosophy, and I just placed this bid in the hope to contact you, because I am not sure I can apply, as the terms are too vague at this point. But I am really interested in this kind of job, so I would be glad to ear more from your project.
I am currently involved in a post-doc research project of translation and commentary (from german to french, but I have also had several academic experience of translation from english to french), and philosophical translation has become a passion.
I hope you won't get the impression that I am overstepping, but I feel I have to tell you that no other candidate for the job will be able to actually do it properly : one cannot translate a content without being 100% sure to understand it, and philosophical content requires special skills. As an historian of philosophy, I can guarantee you that a non philosopher won't be able to translate philosophical texts, preserving the meaning and the coherence of terminology, etc.
Of course I remain at your disposal for any additional information you may require concerning my profile.
Best regards,
Mathieu Horeau
