Rails Full-Stack Expert Needed

We have coded a bot in Ruby and need a statistician/trading expert to refine our trading model and help us develop it algorithmically. You'll improve the model, backtest it, and test different strategy variables. Work required: 1. Refine our trading model. Verify current calculations and improve them. 2. Backtest the model using historical data. 3. Test different strategy variables. 4. Provide clear documentation of your work. Skill Requirements: 1. Experience in statistics, financial modeling, and algorithmic trading. 2. Proficiency in a programming language such as Ruby, Python or R. 3. Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts simply. Please share examples of relevant work. Budget is TBD based on experience and estimated hours. We have a trading strategy that we have built into a "bot" (written in Ruby with a simple UI) and want to improve, and need someone with either trading experience or mathematical computational models, financial markets analysis and automated trading and backtesting to come in and improve the current solution we have. The current solution works, but isn’t perfect, we want to improve the trading algorithm, set up different ranges to buy at, and identify the best ranges to buy within. The model also needs to be back tested as well. We are looking for someone to come in help get this project to the finish line, so that it can run on auto-pilot with minimal maintenance. The current version of the trading bot is set up using Ruby on Rails. Continuing in Ruby would be preferred as it means we can continue to easily maintain the bot after the project has been completed. Project success will be measured by: - The bot opening, monitoring and closing positions successfully. - Calculations for orders supports multiple ranges, and formulas have been improved. - Improvements have been to suggest the best possible ranges based on moving averages, maintenance levels, and liquidation points. - Successfully back tested the model with a few different scenarios based on the last 12-24months to further optimize. - Insights and knowledge shared on ways we can improve profitability of the model. Such as sharing a deeper understanding of Liquidation, Conditional Orders, Partial Closing. # Assistance Needed ### Overall scope The trading bot currently handles the following categories, and there are a set of improvements and bug fixes to completed in each of these categories to improve what we have today. Opening position (Improvements & bug fixes) The bot open a position (if one isn’t open) or monitor a position and optionally place subsequent orders based on the settings defined. Maintaining position (Improvements & bug fixes) The bot needs to maintain the position, by looking at the current quantity and ensuring the take profit aligned to the desired ROI. Take profit needs to triggered as a Limit Order. Closing position (Improvements & bug fixes) When a position is closed (i.e. take profit is triggered and filled), re-open a new position using the settings from the initial position. Calculating subsequent orders across ranges (New functionality) Improve the ability to place subsequent orders by suggesting 2 - 3 ranges with varying levels of budget. Also improve the calculations addressing current bugs in the formulas. Calculating the best ranges / protection price(s) (New functionality) Pre-define a set ranges based on moving average, maintenance level, and liquidation. Adopt the WebSocket API (New functionality) Currently we are polling the ByBit API once every minute, we want to switch to the WebSocket API to receive and response to events in real-time. Back testing the model (New functionality) Once the the above improvements have been made and the bot can successfully run end to end. We will need the ability to back test the model based on the last 12mo of data, and produce the output into a Google Sheet so that we can analyze the results and run a few different scenarios. Based on the results of the back testing there will likely be additional improvements identified that will need to be implemented. Investigating and sharing best practice tips (If trading expert) If you’re a trading expert, it would be great to get some tips and tricks on different ways we can optimize the model, and look into different options available too such as conditional orders, and partial take profits as a way to maximize profits and minimize trading fees. For the right expert, given the point where we already have a functioning solutions, we believe this would take a week or two of work at 20 hours per week.
