We have developed a simple VB.NET network layout algorithm. The current algorithm is not sufficient for complex graphs: it currently generates overlapping nodes. Examples of a simple and complex graph are attached. We require the following revisions: 1) Maintain current configuration file template, at least regarding the ability to: - set color, size, etc. for nodes and edges (connections). - set an icon for each node 2) Automatically lay out all nodes so that none overlap. Developers can use the current (broken) method for layout nodes, but fix it such that the primary ring of nodes actually forms a circle and none of the nodes - in the ring or outside - overlaps any other node. It is not, however, important that the current method be maintained at all. 3) Automatically arrange nodes in a circular layout. The rules for this can be flexible - meaning some nodes can be arranged in a ring with some outliers, but which nodes belong where is not necessarily important (though see #4 below). 4) Arrange the layout so that the "input" nodes are all collected in an inner ring (diameter dependent on the number of input nodes) or cluster and the other nodes are arranged outside of the input nodes. We will require interested bidders to complete an NDA before we can provide the existing code. If interested, please provide a summary of your relevant experience in automated graphic layout.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
