Reporting Module - PHP/MySQL

We will be building a reporting system pulling information from a MySQL database. ? The module must be easy to use, flexible (reporting engine is a definate must), reports must include Flash Based Graphs. We will also be building a dashboard where users can select report summaries/charts/graphs etc and have them on their front screen. Please don't bid on this project unless you have got experience with reporting tools/development. ## Deliverables The development site is: [login to view URL] I can provide login details to this site (message me and ill give them to you). You will then be able to see the current reporting. The idea is to build a reporting module, we can use a reporting engine to achieve this. Users will select a report in the left navigation. They will be given a set of filters/options like date range etc. They click submit and the report is generated. (where options are not mandatory we could just open the report). Users will be able to edit the options at any time which would reload the report. The report will 'usually' comprise of a list of data + graphs. However, sometimes there will be totals, extra information, multiple graphs and charts. The whole system must be 100% cross browser and adapt to different size screens. It would also be nice to be able to easily add/create new reports without the need to write code, this allows me or anyone else (that may not be a developer) to create reports for customers when they request them. Reporting Module The aim of this development is to rebuildour existing reporting module. Weshould use a reporting engine to give the users greater flexibility over thereports available. SQL I built the MySQL database so understandall the links, joins and relationships.I will be able to either show you a working example of the report and/orhelp write the SQL. Features -We must be easily able to produce goodlooking reports -It must be possible to include 1 ormore graphs, charts etc with each report -User must be able to export reports toPDF/Excel/CSV -It must be easy to add new reports atany point Style Although eHeating already has style sheetsavailable it is important that the new reporting module looks professional(inspiration can get taken from Google Analytics). All reports and graphs must work and adaptto different size monitors and different browsers (completely cross browser isimportant). All reports/graphs mustalso adapt to a hiding navigation bar, which is already part of the system. This means reports expand when thenavigation gets hidden. Performance With potentially 10,000’s records in the DB(if not more) it is important that all reports are designed with performance inmind. This also relates to all AJAXwork. JQuery We currently use JQuery as the main andonly library for AJAX on the server. Iwant to extend this into the reporting [login to view URL] means when users open reports we should use AJAX to load datadisplaying waiting icons where [login to view URL] can also be used if necessary. Project Management I recently started using unfuddle.com. An online system used to manage and tracktickets. We will be using this alongwith RAC to track and manage the development.
