I am in need of an algorithm for automated fingerprint recognition system based on minutia detection. The algorithm has to be written in matlab and should make use of image processing toolbox. The project will have two phases :-enrollment (fingerprints stored in a database) and identification from live scan
The project will involve modules like:-
1) Acquiring a fingerprint image.
2) Converting the image into REGION OF INTEREST
3) Image Enhancement
4) Segmentation
5) Finding local ridge orientation
6) Finding Local Ridge Frequency
7) Detecting Minutia
8) Matching the print
The problem with most of the systems is their time consumption while processing the print. Therefore code you write has to be fast working.
The person who bids for this project will understand what i am talkin about. The details will be given to the successful coder.
Also the coder should provide previous work experience which is very necessary. As this algorithm will be integrated with TEXAS intstruments hardware at later stages. The coder need not worry about the hardware bit and leave that to us.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
