I would like someone to research if it's possible to have Windows use a preview pane handler when no file is selected. Currently it will say "Select a file to preview." (on Windows 7). What I want to know is rather than show that message, if I could have a particular handler used.
My initial research suggests that preview handlers are used based on the file extension of the file selected. Thus I'm not sure if this is possible, since no file will be selected.
I don't require any working software, but really a suggestion of how I could achieve this if I can.
