You just inherited 1000 databases from 50 different projects that were all developed differently and on different platforms/versions. You need to consolidate to one single Amazon x1.32xlarge instance running a single enterprise database platform. How would you do it? 2 When you consolidate databases, Dev, QA, Prod all on same database, how would you logically separate those? How do you ensure integrity of the production database? 3 How do you monitor these large consolidated databases. Tools, key metrics, decision impacts? 4 How do you structure the storage for a large consolidated database server to be efficient in throughput and scale as data grows? 5 How do you handle migration of a product from an older version of a database platform to a newer version? How can you expedited the "certification" process of an app running on the new version?
