I read all requirements, I usually study if I don't have enough knwoledge to accomplish the task. So, if you give me a task, I will try to work on it for an amount of time and I will tell you how difficult is it for me to get it done.
I noticed, for example, for some tasks how much important is to document them very well before starting any developing...
My basic attitude is to study new things and not to have deadlines too strict, I will document as clearly as possible what it takes to apply what I'm studying/researching.
Obviously, I like writing code, and apply theory!
