We are seeking a Linux Expert with previous experience compiling LiveCDs to create a custom LiveCD.
The LiveCD must boot modern computers, recognize most onboard NICs and recognize SATA and IDE drives. The LiveCD must have a minimal set of applications (no desktop applications will be required) that includes bash, telnet server, ssh client and server, ftp, ping, vi . CentOS is the desired version of Linux for the LiveCD.
After booting the computer, the LiveCD must do following:
1. Detect the NIC card.
2. Start the network interface.
3. Launch the applications located in "autorun" folder.
The deliverables will include:
1. Source code of the kernel, and files necessary to support boot disk ISO image creation per requirements stated above
2. A script to compile the kernel to create a kernel image
3. A script to generate an ISO image of a bootable CD from the kernel image, additional set of drivers, and a set of applications (executables) in a "autorun" folder
This is an ongoing project and you would be joining a team of 6 developers. After this prototype LiveCD work is completed, there is an opportunity to continue with the project on a remote, part-time basis.
