From what I understood from the project description you want a program that reads some input from hardware (I presume a keyboard), displays the results that come from manipulating the inputs in some simple mathematical manner and it is terminated upon a specific input. I can easily do that within 5 days and I can write this program in Java if you want, so you can run it on any computer that has the JVM. Otherwise I can send you the source code and you can compile it very easily (I will guide you through the process thoroughly) on your raspberry pi so you can use it.
