The purpose of the HW is to create an application that processes images so that they resemble cartoons. There are many methods that produce the cartoon effect. For this topic you have to apply some simple algorithms: 1: Border extraction with Sobel operator. The output of the Sobel operator will be binarized and combined with the initial image, the effect being of thickened edges. 2: Further thickening of the edges by dilation (after binning the Sobel operator output, before combining with the initial image) 3: Reduction of the color palette by 2 methods (the current method is chosen by pressing a key or a button) a) Setting color intervals: each interval will be reduced to a single color - here the pixels adjacent are not taken into account. It is simply considered certain color ranges. If a pixel has a color that is part of a range, then the color of that pixel changes with the color of the range. b) Extension segmentation, without germ points - you have the description of this algorithm in progress. Here the adjacent pixels are taken into account and all the pixels in a homogeneous region will finally have the same color (the average color of the region).
