Hi My Company is a new start-up and I think we can do a good job on this project. I am a python/Django programmer with 5 year django and 8 python. I also have a front end developer for the groovy front end stuff. Right now he's into Angular.js. For your site, I would build a Django rest API backend, and have a backbone or angular controlled front end doing the calls etc. That will make life a little easier. Postgres is not a problem for me to use.
