Rumple is an iOS application that provides its users a way to connect with friends, locals, and local businesses in the surrounding area throughout interactive search functions that provide a user friendly and novel experience.
Rumple prides itself by specializing in its own niche. In fact, one of the main problems we are trying to solve using Rumple is the amount of missed opportunities that people encounter using various alternatives for connecting with each other. This can be because of clutter, lack of simplicity, or attention to other functions that disable the event based aspects. One way we solve this problem is by providing interactive search functions based off of spontaneity and upcoming endeavors.
So that is kind of a broad overview of what Rumple is, now let me explain what both spontaneity and upcoming endeavors mean in context to Rumple.
Spontaneity:
This concept has to do with the posting of activities/events that are happening relatively soon (like a Tweet). Users can post a small excerpts such as, “bonfire in 30 minutes” or “pick-up soccer in an hour at the CP turf field” that anyone can join. Mutual friends who are going and other specifications will be shown with the post.
Upcoming Endeavors:
This concept is similar to Facebook and other event-based applications. This is where users can create any activity/event that is coming up in a later time frame. Our home page will be similar to Tinder, where there will be an interactive, live, swiping feed where users can scroll through surrounding activities/events.
Other common uses for the apps can be parties, pick up sports, ASI events, Greek life events, study sessions, hiking trips, hobby meetups, business meetings, and pretty much anything else you can think of.
The current situation:
Our plan is to launch next fall at the start of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s school year (September 2015), utilizing about 20 marketing channels that we've been accumulating. We have arguably the best programmer at Cal Poly eager and ready to start making the app, but without quality mockups, wireframes, and other assets we are unable to do so. Therefore, we are looking for a UI/UX developer to help make our revolutionary app a reality.
