Creative Director for African-Inspired Home Products

Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Creative Director to join our startup company dedicated to producing unique home goods with a focus on African culture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of infusing diverse African or other culture influences into everyday items such as table mats, curtain tie backs, plant holders, and more. This role requires a deep understanding of various different cultures, a keen eye for design, and the ability to tell compelling stories through the creation of distinctive home products. Responsibilities: 1. Cultural Infusion: - Infuse various African cultural elements into home products, telling stories through design and capturing the essence of different traditions, motifs, and histories. 2. Product Design: - Lead the creative direction of home goods, including but not limited to table mats, curtain tie backs, plant holders, and other everyday items. - Ensure designs are innovative, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with the brand's vision. 3. Brand Alignment: - Understand and align with the brand identity and values of the startup company. - Ensure that all designs reflect the core ethos of celebrating and preserving African culture. 4. Storytelling: - Develop narratives behind each product, effectively communicating the cultural stories and inspirations that inform the design. - Create marketing materials that convey the unique stories associated with the products. 5. Innovation and Creativity: - Bring innovation to the design process, exploring new materials, techniques, and styles. - Ensure that each product stands out in the market as a blend of tradition and contemporary design.
