I have recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Anthropology, from the Hans Raj College, University of Delhi, with a specialization in social anthropology (2018). I also hold a “Bachelor of Science Honours” degree in anthropology from the same institution. I have prior experience in carrying out ethnographic fieldwork, mixed-method research and designing projects and proposals. My research experience also includes literature review, structured and unstructured interview, academic writing, survey-design, data processing and management. I am particularly adept at employing tailored research methods and techniques for qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis and interpretation.
My master’s dissertation, based on mixed method ethnographic fieldwork, ‘Perceptions of Fertility in a Punjabi Village’, explored various dimensions of women’s health and generated in-depth insights on socio-cultural understanding of fertility, reproductive and sexual health among adolescents and ever-married women of rural villages of Gurdaspur, Punjab. I have also authored a research paper on menstrual health, beliefs and practices based on my work in Punjab. While working for People for Animals, I wrote research articles with Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi regarding animal welfare and biodiversity disruption.
Research Interests: social anthropology, medical anthropology, psychological anthropology, gender, health, ecology, culture, intersectionality and human behaviour.
