I want to run C# code from an Azure VM and write into Azure DB securely (without hardcoding SQL credentials). To do this I want to set up managed identity so that can read username and password from Key Vault.

KeyVault is a great solution to your issue. I've got experience setting up and using secrets stored in KeyVault. I've leveraged connection strings in C# as well as Azure Functions from KeyVault. Relevant Skills and Experience I'm a cloud architect with a lot of experience with Microsoft technology stack.
