Use Arduino UNO to create a smart home alarm system which connected with a PIR sensor which is placed on the top of door frame(optional- can be placed at anywhere which can detect the motion. Upon someone entering the range of PIR sensor, there is a transmitter to transmit the data to receiver when sense the motion and the receiver will receive the data and activate the alarm system which will make the alarm to produce pitching sound and LED will start flashing. Arduino GSM shield willtriggered a call to fixed number to alert the user

Arduino UNO can be used to connect PIR sensor, since it is a digital Input pin. It also has serial uart u can send the AT commands to GSM Modem for alerting user.
