A client (exploration and geological modelling consultant in Brisbane, Australia) has asked BeCoal Mining Services to participate in a project team producing a JORC compliant Reserve Estimation for a start in 2-3 weeks. Skills Required: Typical opencast mining engineering with design and scheduling in coal and also high level geotech review of inputs from the client.
As a guide, please see below the client’s time allocation in hrs for Reserve Estimation budgeting purposes. (It is optimistic but the assumption is that the geologists are doing a lot of the work)
Billable Time (hrs):
Import model to Minex including structure, quality, resource polygons, surface structure and checks 8
Geotech input 8
Determine cost parameters (surface mining operation) 8
Pit optimisation (to determine economic shell) 16
Detailed pit design with assumed geotech factors 24
Mining schedule including dump designs 24
Import to economic model 4
Reporting 24
Allocated total 116
The Minescape Resource Estimation for this project targets 30Mt in Indicated and Measured.
Client can supply some of the mining costs inputs including assigned geotech values which would need verifying. The Minescape model can be exported as a block model (but quite large files) for import into Whittle and Surpac if needed.
Need to have own hardware and software Minex or other compatible.
