Hello,
The advertised job is exactly what I am looking for, and I would like to thank you for this opportunity. My name is Matt, I am in my mid-twenties, I'm from the UK and I am an extensive traveler and journalist. I have had the fortune to visit over 30 countries, most of which in the last few years (discounting the pandemic) and I mostly enjoy either backpacking and travelling on a shoestring to places like India or Vietnam. In most countries I have visited, I have become well versed in the political scene, and as such, I wish to make a career out of freelance journalism.
I am currently living in Tunis, Tunisia, and working for an NGO developing the youth political scene via workshops and apprenticeships, but I am looking at getting into journalism. I have run various different blogs for different organisations (see CV attached), and have had the honour of my writing presented at the UN Human Rights Council, picked up by World Athletics and featured in local newspapers.
My current role requires extensive proofreading and quality control for official reports, which means that I am well-polished and itching to add some creativity to my freelance articles. I also have very flexible work hours and lots of down-time in the office, which I could dedicate to travel blogging. I am well-versed in WordPress and other website software, and have a passion for good quality content. I look forward to hearing from you.
Matt Thomson
