I say the storyboard and style you want, that is called amerimanga, which is a combination of american comic books style and japanese manga style, and actually is my favorite style and closer to the one I naturally do as my own. Also I saw the reference animation style and I can do it as you wants, I totally understand you look for classic 2D animation, frame by frame made, no a whiteboard or rig animation.
