We purchased a PHP chat application (CometChat) that used to work with XMPP clients seamlessly (Facebook and Google) In addition to your own jabber/xmpp server. Since these protocols are no longer supported, the vendor removed the functionality entirey from the app but we still have the code however. My request is to re-enable the jabber/xmpp feature so that the admins can add xmpp servers, and users can select their server from the front end apps. Ideally one-to-one and conference chats should work. If you want to tackle this and can deliver a solution, you are likely to be selected for the subsequent jobs. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is from the vendor's site: Jabber/XMPP Support CometChat now allows your users to connect to your own Jabber/XMPP server. This feature is ideal for enterprise customers who already have a Jabber server running and want to use CometChat as their front-end (on their portal/intranet/site).
