Im looking for someone to write a Web Mapping Service. A Web Mapping Service is a special web service that includes GIS data , so it is different to a web service. You must have proven WMS skills to do this work, you will need to have had previous experience in this. The task is simply to use WMS to access 4 read only views on SQL Server. Each view has one column that uses the geography data type. This work is pretty urgent.

Hi, I have been involved in a lot of web mapping projects, most of which used WMS services to access data in various formats. In a concrete project I was tasked to set up wms service based on an SQL server geo-database. I recommend to use mapserver from [login to view URL] to connect to the SQL and extract data. Then mapserver takes care of everything related to providing a proper standard conformant WMS service. Using mapserver instead of custom code ensures: -quick setup and configuration -standard conformant wms service that all wms clients will be able to use Do you think this is a good way to go for your project? Do you have the sql server up and running already? Will you be able to provide a machine to connect to the SQL or we can use our own? Regards, Csaba

Hi Steven. In a ArcGIS Project could have 3 layers and each layer could be join to a view. The idea is that each layer show the information and at the begin show only one layer. The user can choice what layer check.
