I use Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP machine. I need two scripts that will work with Outlook's "Rules and Alerts" feature. Here are the details of how each script should work:
1. If a message comes in with a specific subject line, Outlook should run a script that calls a specific number (based on the subject line) and, when the telephone is answered, plays a short (5 second) audio file over the line. For example, I need to be able to set up a rule that states: "When a message with the subject "0345 Message" is received, call 414-555-1212 and play message.wav."
2. If a message comes in with a specific subject line, Outlook should run a script that faxes the entire message to a specific fax number based on the subject line. For example, I need to be able to set up a rule that states: "When a message with the subject "0455 Fax" is received, call 414-555-1212 and fax the e-mail message."
I have a Windows XP computer with a working fax modem. If you have a better way to accomplish this, I would be willing to entertain non-Outlook or even non-Windows-based solutions, although I would prefer the Windows Outlook solution outlined above.
Thanks!
Richard
