Java / Python implementation of a vehicle routing algorithm

Looking for a Java / Python developer with experience in the VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem) space. Specifically, we are looking to develop an algorithm for real time management of a fleet of vehicles in a very particular context so need someone who understands this space very well. The individual also needs to have experience with Python and data management tools as we expect our business to generate large quantities of data. Individuals who will be given preference: - Experience with the Google-OR tool suites and IBM CPLEX - Professional or academic experience related to Operations Research and Fleet Optimisation - Individuals based out of India to minimize time-zone and language related coordination issues The specific responsibilities of the individual will be as follows: - Understand the existing simulator code and customize it to reflect the required changes in the routing and vehicle allocation (existing code is in Python) - Work closely with the front-end and back-end team for integration - Develop production ready code including providing / consuming APIs as required Expected project duration of about 3 months. The individual is expected to have licensed tools required for executing this role. Requirements such as cloud storage, server capacity, Google Maps credits etc will be provided as needed. If successful we will also be open to taking on the individual on a full-time basis to set up and lead a data science team.
