Hello,
I'm doing this for my personal benefit as I'm learning ruby currently on the side of any job for my company I ever posted on here, so I'm hoping that the people I know would be willing to help out for a small budget.
I'm looking for someone experienced in Rails to do a quick and simple example of where;
1.) You have a sidebar on the left and content area on the right.
2.) In the sidebar you have bunch of links... like tab1, tab2, tab3...
3.) In the content area on the right, you have bunch of divs or li with content, so like title, date, text/description each separated by a hr line.
Now what I'm looking for is an example of how this would be coded up in rails with the function, so that;
1.) I could drag any of the divs or li, separately, from the content area over the tab1, tab2, tab3 ... and upon dropping it over one of these (tab1,tab2,tab3,etc..) it would update the database of the content with the ID of the tab that I've dropped it onto.
2.) After dropping it into which ever "tab", it would also make that div/li disappear from the content area.
3.) If I dropped the div/li on tab2 for example, and clicked on tab2... it would go to http://localhost/tab/1 and display everything I've dropped into tab2, if I click on tab3... it would show anything I dropped on tab3.. and so on.
In database; I would have for example, column tab and column content...
1.) Tabs would have their ID, per creation ( :id 1, :id2, etc..)
2.) Content or div/li that are draggable and droppable... in database would have a column named tab_id or bin_id, so when viewing tab1... the content area would notice the tab ID and display only div/li content related to that tab ID, by reading the column tab_id in the database for content.
So basically I'm looking for someone to show me by doing an example, how this function above would work in Rails. It's quick and simple, I've read tutorials but I'm having a hard time putting it all together.
Thank you and I hope someone good can help.
I can help you understand ruby or rails by providing you the code with comments and tips so that you won't have trouble in understanding it .
