A proximity search for the ‘PLACES’ we can develop using Drupal CMS. Drupal is a perfect platform for building a Social Network platform. In your system there are mainly two types of users. a) PEOPLE b) PLACES Owners. PEOPLE can perform search for PLACES. In our implementation the users will be able to filter the search by Country , State , Zipcode and the radius within which the user searching for the PLACES. PLACES owners can search for the PEOPLE nearby and can use your website to send email notifications. ‘PEOPLE’ moves. Therefore when people logs in we can update the lat/long automatically. These feature will enable the PLACE owners for targeted ad campaign. We have the basic understanding of your “Find Nearby’ websites. Now we need to understand how you have planned the Social Networking features. Will there be any interaction between ‘PEOPLE’ and ‘PLACE’ owners ? Do you want to integrate with the other social networking platform and using Facbook/Twitter/GooglePlus login ? In drupal we can build the system using the contributed modules ‘addressfield’, ’geocoder’, ’geofields’ and views. If you want the MapViews for the proximity search we can implement that using the IP Geolocation Views & Maps module. We will create ‘PLACES’ and ‘PEOPLE’ will be two vocabulary. We will create a new Content type called ‘PLACES’. Two user role we will create - ‘places owners’ and ‘registered users’. Place owners will be able to create PLACES.
