Seeks advise only - Mobile app backend on AWS

No work involved - I am merely wanting to discuss (over chat client) my options regarding a server side solution for a mobile app . I need assistance in understanding some technologies and are looking for professional advise. The app is not yet created, but currently writing a brief for a developer - but before I do, I would like to explore my options. I am looking at moving to aws for database and compute instances. The app is an internal app but there will be a native android/ios and eventally a html5/web version. I would like to discuss the folowing: - Moving from mysql to nosql, should I / shouldnt I? - I need to invoke things such as text messages upon 'new row in table', but there has to be a better way to do this - Using parse or dreamfactory 'middleware' api - ensuing all data is secured - Which element of aws would be of most use in this scenario. - Ensuing redundancy is setup in aws I trust you have - worked with aws before, and is comfortable with its functionality and operations - Have a good understanding of current web technologies Although app usage will be relativly very small, I want to ensure we build this from the ground up with the flexibility to expand the data. I can explain how the current is setup, and I will look to you for advise on how we can improve it and move to aws.
