We are developing a Drupal Commons community site for a music school with private lessons.
We've made a content type "Lesson" where the teacher can log whats been done, upload files, and let the student comment, ++
Every student has 15 lessons every semester (6 months. 30 total pr year)
We have about 80 students = a total of 900 lessons pr year
Every student will have their own Drupal user.
We want to create a "Lesson" node for every lesson.
Challenge 1:
We need an effective way of creating those nodes, and avoid the manual node/add/lesson for each and every node.
We want to prepopulate a date field on the nodes based on a list of dates. Usually 15 dates.
We also want to prepopulate the student assosiated with the lesson. We are planning to have a separate Commons (OG) group to each student, so if we could have a multiselect choice of groups to create nodes for -that would be great.
Example:
We have 4 students(Nina, Frank, Carl, Lisa) with their own Commons group.
They shall have 4 lessons this week.
1. We select the students groups in a multiselect field
2. We paste our dates in a multiline text field. Format: [login to view URL]
3. We click "Create nodes"
16 nodes are created automatically. We have done some testing with [login to view URL] and that solves some of the problems, except prepopulation with multiple values. There will be needs for filling in values in other fields also, like the body field. But only the two fields explained above need multiple/unique values.

We understand you are building a community website using Drupal Common. There are Teacher and students. Each students is member of a group. You have created a content type 'Lesson'. Teacher will create nodes for this content type after a 'lesson' is delivered to the students. We understand the content type have fields - Title of the Lesson, Date of the lesson, Upload Files, Description of the Lesson and The Name of the student - please confirm.
When the these 'Lesson' nodes are published student will able to comment on each node.
We understand you now want teacher to create multiple nodes with a single form. Instead of selecting individual students you want to select Groups. This will be a multiple select. This will create multiple nodes with each student in the groups.
You tried to implement it with the multi_node_add module.
We would suggest you creating custom form with a custom-module.
You may please provide us the access to your website both admin and codebase so that we can inspect you implementation process.
Can one student be the member of multiple group?
What does multiple date fields do? What are the dates you want to pre-populate the date fields with?
Are the lessons are the events?
What is the Drupal Commons version (6 or 7) you are using?
