PHP CMS contests script change of features

I have a ready-made PHP website that is a CMS for a design contests website. I would like to simplify it and remove the option of uploading designs (images) as entries for the contests and instead I was the user to enter a line of text in a textfield as an entry to the contests (that will be a contest of sentences). Those line of text should be saved and organized the same way the design-images are saved and organized right now. So the contest holder can browse through them and pick a winner. Another way to look at it would be to add a new category of competition where the users don't upload a type of design (logo,banner,etc) but rather just a line of text. If that category would of exist I would just remove all the others. contact me for further questions.
