You are to write an essay (suggested length, excluding sample code, screen clips etc, of 5 to 10 pages of word processed text) reflecting on the facilities Access provides for developing applications giving examples from your experience developing the coursework application (this is very important, just paraphrasing the notes will not get marks; you must illustrate your points from your experience). Your essay should cover · how fully Access provides the functionality you need to develop applications · how easy to use and helpful the Access 2000 IDE is. This includes features of the IDE in developing Forms and Reports, of the VBA IDE in developing and debugging code and of the VBA language. · how the object approach of Access helps in developing software and whether the differences between 'pure' OO such as in C++ and Access/VBA are a help or a hindrance · how the productivity and the range of tools affect the way you went about developing the application (including any 'methodology' or life cycle related issues) You should also write a short technical report (target 3 maximum 5 pages of word processed text) to The Holloway Rapid Supply Company Management. The report should summarise the advantages of Microsoft .NET technology and indicate how it could be applied to systems in HRSC. The work consists of developing a small application using Access 2000. The system is to support the following functions:- 1. Allow the user to enter a customer's name or custno and the system will show his\her name and address, credit limit and the Location and Address of the Depot delivering to that customer. 2. Allow the user to enter a customer's name or custno and the system will show his\her name and address, and the Order Number, Date_Placed, Date_Delivered and total value (ie the total of the order line quantities times the product prices) of all orders for that customer in reverse date order (ie the latest first). 3. Allow all users to change their own passwords (on SystemUser). The only exceptions to this users whose user_type is Manager who can add, delete or update all rows on SystemUser. 4. Allow a user to supply the name of a product and the system will produce a list of all customers who have ordered the product in the last month (ie Corder.Date_Placed is >= the current date - 31 days). 5. List which Customers (by name) who have placed no orders in the last 365 days. 6. Allow a user to supply the name of a product and the system lists the names of the customers who have ordered that product most recently, ie find the date of the latest order(s) for that product and list all customers who have ordered that product on that date. 7. Produce a list of all suppliers with the depots they supply to and each product they supply to that depot with, for each product, a list of the depots with the product in stock and the quantity held. 8. Produce a list of all undelivered orders outstanding for at least 10 days (ie orders with date_placed <= current date - 10 and date_delivered null) in decreasing order of the length outstanding ie with the longest outstanding order first. 9. Sometimes outstanding orders get forgotten. This function should produce a list of all orders where the date placed is more than a year ago (ie date placed is < current date - 365 days) and the date delivered is null.
