Help use npm request to login into a web server to access the REST interface

I need help configuring a node.js program that can scrape data from a website that is behind an authenticated portal. The final product will be a node.js script that will do the following: 1. Use node.js to load the URL: [login to view URL] (consider using [login to view URL] to interact with the https server) 2. Securely authenticate using username and password provided, 3. Store all relevant cookies as needed to establish a secure session 4. Retrieve the json document at the following URL: [login to view URL] (only available when logged in) 5. Write the contents of the file to the console. FAQ: Q: Why not use the published API at [login to view URL] A: We don't currently have access the API and the company hasn't responded to requests to get access. For this project, it will be easier to access the data with the credentials of the user. Q: Is this similar to a financial application like [login to view URL] that scrapes transaction data from banking websites for analysis. A: Yes it is similar, though in this case, the data is from an employee scheduling application Q: What support will be provided to facilitate the project? A: The description above and a username and password that can be used to log into [login to view URL] Q: What is the deliverable to complete the project? A: A node.js script that performs the functions described above. Q: What is the hardest part of the project? A: There are several URL redirects, cookies and authcode parameters that are transferred during the login process with a browser and it has been challenging to replicate that sequence with node.js scripting to establish a secure session and retrieve the json data. Q: What is the budget and requested timeline? A: It would be optimal to receive working code within 24 hrs with a $200 budget.
