I am self-employed and have been working with Microsoft Access for 20 years. Most of my work has been done contracting with the British Columbia Provincial Government. I have been involved in developing and maintaining small to large scale database applications that range in complexity from small single user database utilities to complex multi-user networked accessed ERP applications. The government recently had a push to update all of their older MS Access applications to Access 2010 so I gained a bunch of experience in the issues related with upgrading older versions of Microsoft Access to newer versions. My clients consider my experience with Access to be of an expert level. They appreciate the efficiency and cost effectiveness that this knowledge affords them with their development and maintenance requirements. They will happily provide any references you may require. A couple of questions: 1) What version of Access are you looking at upgrading from? (This impacts how many steps need to be followed during the conversion) 2) Are you looking at a straight conversion, keeping existing components or some redesigning of components? 3) Is it a single-user database or a multi-user database? 4) Is the application component separate from the data tables or is everything merged into one database?
