Hello, fetching data from a remote server and inserting into a database is a task i'm very familiar with, I'm actually currently working in a project that does very similar things. In my view its a simple process, use a request library to fetch the data, sanitize and validate it if necessary (could use cerberus for validation) and then send the data to your desired database in the required format. If many requests are necessary a async library could be used to gain extra performance (sometimes this increases by 10x the speed)

When a flask route is hit, grab json objects from the server using requests/urllib2/similar. Once these are hit, use the json module to parse the returned value Finally, use SQLAlchemy core functions to insert certain fields of the JSON object to a table on an SQL database.
