hi, there are three ways to measure power across a load For current measurement we can use 1) Shunt resistor ( AC/DC currents) 2) Current transformer (only for AC currents) 3) Hall effect sensor ( for both AC and DC currents with Galvanic isolation ) To measure voltage we can use 1) Resistive Divider 2) Isolation amplifier Like IL300. 3) Potential transformer ( for AC voltages only) For a system to be fully isolated from microcontroller we need Hall effect sensor and isolation amplifier in case of DC loads and Current transformer and potential transformer for AC loads. There are some chips available which are specially designed for AC power measurement and are used in commercial power meters. Component selection also depends upon product price. Regards

Do you need power meas across the load in an AC circuit (1 phase/3 phase) or DC circuit(batt load)? For AC circuit , AC meters use for such job .
