Needed URGENTLY: SET UP AND CONFIGURE A SMALL VIRTUAL PC LAB ENVIRONMENT (one VM) FOR A DEMO AT A REMOTE SITE. DEMO WILL COMPARE REMOTE RENDERING PERFORMANCE (gaming benchmarks) ON TWO DIFFERENT THIN CLIENT DEVICES (one at a time).
****MUST KNOW CITRIX XENSERVER, XENDESKTOP, STUDIO, ETC!!!!****
Hourly rates ok but BEWARE - this job can be extremely easy and fast for someone who knows what they're doing, and an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE for someone who does not. So if you have never done anything like this before, never set up a Citrix environment, never set up a VPN, never configured a thin client, etc etc, then PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.
Unlicensed eval software on everything except delivery controller, no security concerns (will be up less than 48 hs). TeamViewer access and admin credentials to everything will be provided so that you may complete remotely. This is a RUSH job needed ASAP due to last-minute staff illness. All reasonable offers considered but you 1) MUST be able to deliver the finished environment for demo this afternoon, and 2) did I mention THIS AFTERNOON? So, really, ASAP.
YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH:
- One (1) WinSvr2016-STD (Desktop Experience) server PRE-CONFIGURED as domain controller (AD/DNS), logged in as domain admin, with remote desktop links to:
- One (1) WinSvr2016-STD (Desktop Experience) server, NOT CONFIGURED but joined to domain, with Citrix Studio on the desktop, logged in as domain admin;
- One (1) Win10-Pro (licensed) workstation, NOT CONFIGURED but joined to domain, with Citrix XenCenter and Citrix XenDesktop / delivery controller, logged in as domain admin, with access to;
- One (1) Citrix XenServer 6.5 machine, HALFWAY-CONFIGURED and joined to domain, with mounted SR containing:
- One (1) installer ISO for Win10-ENT evaluation.
The environment provided will also consist of:
- One Peplink Balance 30 Multi-WAN bonding switch, HALFWAY-CONFIGURED, with connection to public static IP;
- One Pepwave MAX HD2 wireless bonding switch, HALFWAY-CONFIGURED, on a different WAN and static IP, at the remote (demo) site;
- TWO Thin Client devices (one Linux rPi, one Wyse thin client), each on physical LAN connection to Pepwave MAX HD2 switch, NEITHER CONFIGURED AT ALL.
YOUR DELIVERABLES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
You will deliver a single, fully-configured end-to-end environment with the following parameters:
- Fully-configured Citrix XenServer, including PCI pass-through (persistent) of PCI devices hosting a non-qualified nVidia (GTX-950) GPU B:D.f and its associated HDMI-Audio B:D:f devices, INCLUDING special configuration of the hypervisor to allow the full 2GB Video RAM to the virtual machine, as well as 10Gb virtual RAM and 10 CPU cores ( configured as 5 w/2-cores each);
- One (1) Virtual (XenDesktop) machine running Windows 10 eval, with nVidia drivers loaded and successfully identifying the GPU and its HDMI audio device;
- One fully configured XenDesktop delivery controller configuration for the Windows 10 VM, running on the licensed Win10-PRO workstation;
- One fully-configured Citrix Studio deployment for the above Win10-ENT (eval) VM, single user, with fully configured store, group, user, etc etc, AND
- BOTH the Peplink Balance Router at the lab site AND the Peplink MAX HD2 Router at the demo site configured for PepVPN, including bonding;
- Inspection of PepVPN throughput & latency over the bonded WANs and configuration of the Citrix environment to best suit HDX performance given those parameters; and finally,
- Configuration of BOTH thin-client devices at the demo location to be able to access the VM.
Again, this is needed URGENTLY so please do not respond unless you're intimately familiar with this infrastructure. Refer to skill list for questions. If you're knowledgeable about Citrix environments, this should be a super-easy and small job and you should be finished in a couple of hours, maybe less. Very little config done to this point beyond the basic domain for the lab environment, so it's a clean install with no mistakes to fix.

Hello. I'd re-read your task 5 times and it still little confuse me :) Your goal is to install benchmark test on virtual machine (under Citrix management) and provide remote access from two thin PCs. right? also, you have two win2016 and one win10 machines and two routers, but i totally confused about roles of this components. so, please make clear what exactly you want to render, on what machine and how you want to get access to it, and i will hopefully will try to help, since i had served Citrix, Servers and Networks before.
