I have converted a physical machine in the office to a virtual machine in the cloud. I was able to VPN and map network drives from the physical machine but when I try and do it from the virtual machine I get an error: Error 0x80007274d: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. I want to be able to connect to VPN and map network drives from this new virtual machine.

Hi, Let me have a look at it once. What are you hosting your VMs on? and what VPN are you using ? Ipsec / PPTP / OpenVPN ? The issue is with some permission and configuration issue of firewalls in your server and I can help debug it. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Gaurav

Hello gotrain! I currently manage various types of VPN and firewalls for my company. I have set up many active/passive firewall pairs with VPN support. These VPNs range from site-site IPSEC to Cisco SSL AnyConnect VPN client. I configured all aspects of these VPNs including the crypto settings, authentication, and access lists. I'm sure I can make this project successful for you. I would just need to know more details about your setup. What are the details of the VPN that was previously being used? Was it a VPN client? If so,what company makes the client? Do you have any of the other details like VPN hostname? If you can't provide any of this, we may just need to look through the log files on the virtual and/or physical machine to determine the best course of action.
