We are currently running an internal application developed in house 7 - 8 years ago. Simple Access Database on the back end and using Classic ASP as the interface. We need to continue to add features, but now would like to add the new features using ASP.NET. What we need immediately is to add a feature to be able to make SALES CONFIRMATIONS to issue to our customers. What this requires is a simple FORM page which allows us to add Customer Name, SC#, Date, Terms of Sales... etc for the Sales Confirmation. Then allow us to add Product Number, Description, Qty, Unit Price, Other tailored Fields... and Upload Picture for each item. A Sales Confirmation can have many items of course. This Sales Confirmation can then be exported to EXCEL and PDF in its proper format. Basically it is the very basic feature of an ERP. But of course we will have the source code available to us for future changes and enhancements. The easiest way to work would be to make a stand alone app first, and then simply integrated the Access database into our own.

I'll make this on ASP.NET MVC, since the code will be much closure to ASP on the views. As this is only single form where you'll add sales confirmation (one set of information) and it will be linked with multiple products so more like, invoice and invoice lines of billing system. As to support MVC in your local server, you need to install .net 4.0 framework (free download) so your IIS can support MVC as well as Classic ASP as well. Integration is all on your computer. For merge of MVC and Classic ASP, there need to be some issues done like linked login, sharing information from ASP to MVC to insert into database (e.g. user who handling the system etc). So there will be two parts 1) Stand alone 2) Linking between ASP and MVC Let me know what you think, so we can discuss in detail.
