Hi! I´m 37 years old and I was a Project Manager for Portugal Telecom until middle last year when I decided to change course in life and travel. I have been travelling in Africa for the last 6 months in overland tours, alone with my backpack and with some friends. I have a course in photography back when the format was 35mm film and have been photographing ever since so I am very capable of producing quality work. I think I have all the needed skills for this project and the will to travel and meet new people as well as document what I see. Also since I know the web environment very well I feel very capable of creating content for online viewing. However, I need to know the timeframe for this project, when it starts and what are the reasons behind it in order to commit since until July this year I will be in South Africa taking a Safari Guide course. I am a Photography student in Derbyshire England with a lot of travel experience. I also have lots of experience writing articals for the web and for magazines. I believe the time allowance is fair, although I would hope to achieve this in 3-4 months and the money that is being offered for the oppertunity is generous and would cover all expenses and more. The only downside for me is that I cannot speak Portuguese, although im sure I would be able to pick up a phrase book and practice a little before I went. I would need an estimated time of the project starting and the intended time of closure, I would hope to be going around June and be back for September although I can be flexible regarding this as the Unit of study for june to October is Travelog, which would fit in nicley with the project. Well, what can I say? This is definitely my dream job and I'm sure I'm more than just a right person to do it. I understand it's hard to pick among all "more qualified" persons, but I can assure you, I completely understand the task and I will do my best. I was working as a journalist for weekly newspaper and I was writing a lot about tourism related topics and I was also taking pictures, which is one of my interests. I was doing this for 3 years. I've spent another 2 creative years in PR, now I'm a legal consultant in the Slovenian parliament. But my first job was in south of Spain, where I started to work as a tour guide and a representative for a tourist agency. So there I was, in Malaga, without knowing any spanish word, buit it was great. I've learned some spanish and gained some valuable experiences. I was also guiding in Tunisia, wituout knowing any arabian or french word. Although I made my best of things. I have to admit that I don't speak Portuguese, but if you decide for me, I'll take a quick course. I'm quiet talented for languages, I speak besides Slovene, English, German, Croatian, Serbian, also some Spanish and Italian. I think I'm the right person for this job, because I can find special details which are interesting for potencial visitors of Cape Verde.I get around pretty well,I'm very realiable and responsible, have eye for good photos and have feeling for good things. I'm also very open-minded,traveling is my biggest passion and your offer is my dream job.
