Digital Photo/Video Receiver
A company called Ceiva ([login to view URL]) provides a service for consumers to upload digital photos to their site and then send them to a digital photo frame via the internet or a regular telephone line. The photo frame is “plug and play?? and automatically logs into the Ceiva site once per day.
We are looking for an alternative solution. Our vision is to have a “box?? built that would act as the smarts (same functionality as the Ceiva) but could be hooked up to any LCD screen or TV (catv/pal).
We are looking for a developer that could provide a white labeled turn key solution complete with the web site. The solution should have an optional wireless (802.b/g) connection as well.
At this time we are looking for scoping costs. Cost to build the prototype and 10 units for proof of concept and a simple site to demo the service. As well we would expect by the end of the project to determine the ongoing cost for the hardware and a final cost to develop a full commercial site. (If you can estimate the cost of a commercial site at this time, it would help in evaluating the project.)
We assume that we would use the same developer to provide a commercial site and work with a manufacture to produce the first 5 to 10 thousand units.
