We have a application that is used on a Windows 95 machine to run jobs at certain times. This software has a alert screen. When there is a problem with one of the jobs, for example the job fails or does not run, then an alert is sent to this status screen within the application.
I need a VB6 application that will monitor this window within the other application for any change. If it detects any change, then the VB application will create a popup alert window and a audio alert. The popup window will just say something like "Check Alerts".
The VB application should also trigger a popup window on another computer on the same network with the same mesaage. This may require a small client to be installed on the other machine and this is fine.
I have seen software out there that will allow you to control buttons on other applications and I feel this might work the same way only to monitor and not control. For example I know there is a little program out there called mic locker which locks the talk button on Yahoo chat.
I am not sure if this will help or not but the application that has the screen we want our application to minitor is Exceed for Win32 X Windows server version 6.1.0.0 by Hummingbird Communication LTD.
Please remeber two things, this application must be in VB6 or VB.NET and the machine it will run on is Windows 95.
A demo to show example of how you would do it would be a major plus!
