Hi there, looks like an interesting project with v4/v6 interworking. Few things are not quite clear from the description, but in general - you're trying to make a Linux-box to be router between your v6 LAN segments (with hosts receiving addresses via DHCP from the same Linux-box) and v4 internet. As you mentioned the "NAT" between v4 and v6 is the most tricky one: iptables (or any other kernel-space tool) will not do it, so you will need to rely on user-space daemons, which means less throughput/performance. I may build the test environment to make sure it'll fly and then port to your server... What is your Linux OS? regards.

I have set up many linux devices as routers to do this, using different linux distros (ubuntu, opensuse, redhat/centos). There is one problem, one thing you ask cannot be done in the way you expect, an internal IPv4 packet can't be magically transformed into an IPv6 one, however, there are ways to achieve what you want. I assume that you have already got a plan for IPv4 and IPv6 network blocks.
