Build a Website

Hello, We tried a local Chicago developer who was more interested in forcing us through his process and up-charging us at every opportunity rather than making life simpler, sticking to his estimates and being a good solutions provider. We were hoping to keep typical work (non PHP HTML, CSS and Wordpress settings) between $15-$35 an hour, We understand the need to make a living and can be flexible regarding delivery times as long as the work is ultimately solid and the agreed upon deadline is met. Our current punch list for [login to view URL] (Salient Theme) is: > Debug / fix responsive display issues of background images of all pages and DIV’s (Photo Booth + Extras’s page is worst offender on iPhone 6+ but some images that look ok on desktop retina display don’t justify correctly on non retina displays.) > Proper mobile RETINA compatible html email signatures update (our sig currently works is ok but breaks on repeated email quoting and is too large I think for proper mobile display) > Site speed optimization (looking at caching solutions - anything to reduce page load time) > SEO optimization - we’re using Yoast but don’t yet have Google Analytics installed > Facebook image display (Yoast allows a particular image to be shared but it doesn’t work consistently. Would also like to explore having a different default DIV shared when FB sharing home page) Once this project is completed - next up is [login to view URL] which will require: > New Page / Content layout which we will provide and you would implement. The challenge here is that the Theme (Avian) is discontinued, and I had to hire a dev team to fix Visual Composer errors. Would also like to explore having a different default DIV shared when FB sharing home page) Once these basic items are sorted, I would like to discuss a somewhat advanced CSS / HTML5 / possibly SQL driven “pricing / packaging configurator” I’m a small business owner who needs reliable professional help and in leu of the highest hourly rates, can be very flexible on turn around times so the work doesnt interfere with your top paying projects. That said, once agreed upon, deadlines are important to me, and I’m hope to have a minimum of necessary back and forth communications as I’m not a micro manager and don’t seek a developer who requires micromanagement. Questions: > Are you willing to file Theme help tickets to get answers? > What is your estimating / billing process? > Do you intend to stay in the business? >Are you too busy for split rates work? I’m hoping to finding someone I fit well with who has the skills for more advanced development (at a higher rate of course) but is willing to be flexible with lower rates for less demanding work with longer delivery times. >Are you experienced with Adwords and Google Analytics? Do you offer any SEO services and if so, how do you approach this vast and varied subject?
