Hello, I am the communications executive for the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums based in Switzerland. We are interested in creating a short 1 minute animation to promote our project Biodiversity is Us. Distribution Chanel: Facebook, Youtube and other social media online content platforms. Target Audience: Global/international Internet and social media users, which are between 25-45 years old, but with particular intention and attention to create content that is adapted to a younger audience from all cultures. This means that the concept of the importance of diversity should be understood by a 12 year old. Genre: Animation, didactic, whiteboard style drawing with more sophisticated , coloured 3D looking animals. length: 1-2 min Distribution Chanel: Facebook, Youtube and other social media online content platforms. Premise: Building on 3 years of Diversity is Us campaign, the content should blend into the campaign in style and content. Concept: A stick man, epitomising human kind, climbs up a pyramid. This pyramid is then revealed to be the food pyramid of which mankind represents the top of the food chain. The food pyramid is built of animals: the mammals and birds at the top, fish and crustaceans in the middle, insects and bacteria at the bottom (this is just an example, the categories and hierarchy will have to be determined by WAZA) . The man seems pretty pleased by himself , on the top of the pyramid whilst the off-voice/narration explains that he is sitting there thanks to all the other species staying in balance, supporting him. To show the interdependence, which is not always as straightforward as one might imagine, we have an animal disappear, and then as a consequence, other animals, one after the other go extinct. The pyramid disintegrates, the man topples and finds himself on the ground with nothing left around him. Beat. We are all connected.
