I have built a circuit for operating a photodiode in close to zero volts and measuring the photocurrent that comes off the photodiode. Right now I have a light signal of ~80 mV and a dark signal of less than 5 mV. The high signal has a signal to noise ratio of 19:1, taken from my measurement of standard deviation of signal of ~ 4 mV, which may include noise from the stability of my light source. I need to take my output signal and amplify it to a maximum of ~4 V, without introducing (much) more noise. I would prefer to do so using inexpensive parts, and using the same Arduino setup (see below). Current schematic is included, however the photodiode is in fact an Edmund Optics UV-enhanced response silicon detector part # NT57-509 and the quiescient current selector of the ICL7611 is set to ground (quiescient current 100 uA). Circuit is hooked up to an Arduino, which is why there are voltage sources that say Board and PIN: these are the board output voltages and digital output pin voltages of the Arduino, respectively. Arduino code is also included, it requires the Statistic library, which can be found on the Arduino website. Thanks!
