Hi, I am really interested in this project. I having 4+ years of experience in embedded system. Many times i have cross compiled the OS kernel & other modules which were necessary. So, what i got is you need a small operating system by which people can use and learn easily. We can work on this project as profit sharing as well as a one time payment. So this OS must have some basic features as you have mentions Categories: Office: documents writing & reading tools; 1. text editor, words processor, excels sheets, power point, pdf reader etc. 2. documents converter from words to pdf etc. Multimedia: 1. Audio/video player, lets most commonly used like VLC or some other customize players 2. easy Image viewer and editor 3. tools which are used to burn the CD/DVD etc 5. games is an optional part if needed we will add 6. media editor 7. web camera support Internet: 1. One web browser for internet; it may any standard browser but customized with minimum options to use for learning and not for configuration. 2. SIP calls as its a trend to use VAIP and skype type stuff File Manager: Printer Module: Some remote access tools; It would be good to have so that a simple user can access hes/her PC remotely . Basic utils: 1. Calculator etc. So thats all i can think of right now. We can or delete any module/feature above as the your requirement. Please provide more info if needed Regards Javed

Hi, My name is Razvan Coca, I'm a Linux C++ developer. I think there are a couple of linux-based OSes out there: some tablet ubuntu with word processor, spreadsheet, web browser. I'm not sure they are making money, they offer it for free download with a promise to support the distribution. Hope it helps, Razvan

I think we could design an arch linux distribution and install only software needed. Cant think of a better solution. Because Arch is so minimalist Operating System it requires very low hardware specs. But, I will need more information in order to create a more accurate solution.
