Hi there,
I'm a mechanical engineer with over 15 years experience in designing, modeling, prototyping and effective manufacturing of different products, ranging from consumer goods to alternative energy systems.
I worked on conception and manufacturing of oxy-plasma CNC cutting machine, and also on re-technologization of an old coordinate drilling machine (adapted the measuring systems in order to have numerical controlled displacements).
Few observations about your project:
- your goal (of 4k) for such aportal is not realistic - I could only tell you that I bought a roller screw from NUK (1200mm lenghts with 50mm diameter) and it cost me almost 3500Euro. Indeed, ball screws are cheaper, but still...
- the type of frame you show in pictures will fail some time, or in the best case your machine will be out of parameters and you'll have errors - a good frame is made in steel(which is not always straight, but is resistant and could be welded/connected properly), on top of which you put the aluminum profiles which you have to align for parallelism, and on top of them the guiding rails (which could be several models with different accessories (brake, end of course amortisers, etc)
- very important for prices is the resolution/precision and repetability you desire from this machine.
Before to start gathering prices for all the components, I think will be useful that you to open a msg channel here, and after a short discussion, I could start
