THE SAME PROPOSAL WILL BE MY DESSERTATION SUBJECT Second Section : Write a dissertation Proposal _________________________________________________________________________ *** The assignment : assignment of 5,000 words which will require students to write a Research Proposal. *** Structure of the proposal 1. Title 2. Introduction containing: What you will write about? Make sure that its UNIQUE (Don’t mention any exclusions within the introduction) Why you are doing it? Why you selected the topic? To whom it’s important/ interested? Who will the research benefit? The important of the issue, why it’s important for us and the others. Is it important for particular company, region, government. Problem or issue that is going to be addressed. What is going to be included and what is going to be excluded. Purpose and who will the research benefit and its unique features/contribution. Focus/research questions. 3. Context of the study: e.g. specific company or sector. 4. Relevant Academic literature. This will indicate the literature base for the work and seminal works. This section may be used to justify the proposed research, e.g. it may identify a gap in the literature. What other people wrote in the topic that you have chosen (from the oldest to the newest) Note: - You have to search for 50 literatures and filter them to get the best 20 literature - It is advisable to attached minimum two good literatures in your assignment to show the research methodologies that have been used and intent to use them in your assignment. Review them critically and identify the gaps in each one of them. (who has done what and what you intent to do) Close the literature review with your focus questions. (3 to 5 questions) Note: focus questions could be hypothesis 5. proposed methodology Once you select two to three papers of research methodologies linked to your work by adopting the same methodology to your assignment. 6. Research approach List down the type of interviews (in which companies they are) and are they quantitative or qualitative. Write a brief about the company/the person that you have interviewed and their back ground. How you will collect the data. How you will present them (charts, tables, graphs … etc.) 7. Issues of research quality Validity, generalizability, reliability, etc 8. Research methods 8.1 Data collection: What date that you will use? How you will collect them? (interview, online, phone, questioner) (min 50 items) the more the better Who is your target segment? (Male/Female, Managers/employees, specific company/ industry etc.) 8.2 Data analysis 8.3 Issues of ethics and access - Provide the following: o Sample of Questioner o Sample of interview’s questions o Action Plan/ Time schedule (Gantt Chart) o Ethics form to be submitted. 9. Initial references (25 Academic literature is required). List down the used literature/ references only Do not provide bibliography References should be with Harvard Style.
