I have just starting using 3dcart ecommerce software. I sell plaques in my cart. I also offer engraving to my customers, I charge at a rate of 20 cents per letter.I would like to be able to use a test box for customers to enter their engraving information and have the software calculate the price by the number of characters entered into the box. I do not want to include spaces. I just want to charge 20 cents per character and have it show up on the checkout page as "engraving fee" and I would like to add an inventory item number to it. I know I could do a flat rate fee, but would rather have it calculated by the number of characters.
I am always adding new plaques and would like it to be some type of custom advanced option that I can apply to new items in the future, easily
I also need to have the engraving text to be added to shopping cart basket, so it will show on invoice. I need a copy of text on the order for the person doing the engraving.
