Socket delay problem on Salaris

Hi I am trying to Send data down a socket through port 25 on my salaris machine. I am using the Socket.h library and when we Send a "EHLO" message down the port but straight after this we call a Socket Recieve Method which always hangs for about 10-15 seconds. I have proved that the Recieve is waiting for the send to actually happen by monitoring the process with TRUSS and the netword with SNOOP.

However if you telnet direct to port 25 and type "EHLO" there is no delay so it must be my software implementation.

Please could someone shed some light on this matter and you will get Great feedback and future work from this.

ps. The delay happens whatever command I send down the port just so you know :-(
